Fatma Şahin, Mayor of Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality, visited Değirmen Makina Sanayi, operating in the 4th Organized Industrial Zone (OIZ), and met with industrialists and factory workers.

Conversing with the workers on the factory floor, Mayor Şahin announced that they would launch initiatives to resolve transportation issues within the OIZ. Şahin also shared the good news that new parking facilities and soup houses would be introduced to the area.

ATASEVEN SHARED INSIGHTS

During the visit, M. Selçuk Ataseven, Chairman of the Board of Değirmen Makina Sanayi, provided information regarding the plant's production activities. Emphasizing the company’s deep-rooted 70-year history, Ataseven stated that they produce 140 varieties of pulses, flour, semolina, and pasta, exporting their products to numerous countries worldwide.

Showing close interest in the workforce, Mayor Şahin noted that housing projects and tunnel construction underway for OIZ employees are nearing completion. Remarking, “We always stand by our industrialists and workers,” Şahin highlighted that the newly established Şehitkamil State Hospital in the OIZ is a significant asset for local workers. At the conclusion of the visit, Mayor Şahin expressed her gratitude to the company’s founder, Enver Ataseven, for his contributions to production and employment, kissing his hand in a gesture of respect.
