Compact prismatic magnetic-grid separator
A high-efficiency safety filtration unit for cleaning bulk raw material in dust and granular form of ferromagnetic (iron-based) foreign matter. With its ultra-compact box-shaped body, it provides food safety and machine-protection standards at the highest level even in the tightest, hardest-to-mount spaces of the plant.
WORKING PRINCIPLE
Prismatic entry in tight spaces — vertical mass reception: the flour, semolina or grain mass arriving by free fall from machine inlet throats or transfer chutes enters through the box magnet’s square/rectangular upper inlet flange. Labyrinth-effect magnetic-capture frequency — multi-deck grid filtration: as the raw material sifts down the vertical axis, it passes between the multi-deck magnetic grid bars stacked one above the other; owing to the special staggered (labyrinth) layout no blind spot untouched by the flow remains, and any iron dust, nails and wire pieces in the product are powerfully captured by the grid walls. Uninterrupted clean conveying to the process lines — purified safe discharge: the raw-material particles, 100% cleared of metal-contamination risks, are safely discharged from the lower outlet throat to the next processing and packaging lines without any flow resistance or pile-up.
KEY ADVANTAGES
- Box-type design optimised for tight spaces: The prismatic box form is specially designed for the tightest operational areas with limited storey height, between pipe elbows and other logistics equipment; it maximises in-plant placement flexibility.
- Modular grid geometry: Depending on the process’s capacity regime and the raw material’s contamination level, it is made with two, three or four grid decks; increasing the deck count lengthens the material’s contact time with the magnetic field and takes filtration precision to the highest level.
- Stainless-steel material science: The entire outer casing and the inner magnetic grid tubes are made of AISI 304 stainless steel fully compliant with food-sanitation standards; this highly corrosion-resistant structure offers a long service life.
- Neodymium magnetic option for high-precision areas: On critical lines requiring top-level removal or when the capture of micronised stainless/iron dust is targeted, neodymium (rare-earth) magnetic elements with a very high flux density (gauss force) are preferred and integrated into the system.
ENGINEERING NOTE
The box magnet is the most effective “in-line protection” element offering space savings especially at critical process transitions: at plansifter outlets, roll-feed inlets and right above the packaging hoppers before packing. The staggered layout of the inner grid bars mechanically splits the flour or semolina flow, forcing it to flow as a curtain. This kinematic curtain, combined with the high attraction force of the optional neodymium magnets, fully removes the chance of ferromagnetic escape even in high-capacity flows. The sliding (drawer-type) cleaning mechanism lets the operator complete periodic maintenance within seconds.
