Gravity-fed multi-stage de-dusting and cleaning system
A high-efficiency aerodynamic separation unit that uses an intensive air stream to remove light foreign matter, husks, empty/weak kernels and micro-dust from wheat, rye, oats, maize and similar grains. Thanks to its vertical design and special internal cassette geometry, it delivers flawless cleaning without a drive motor — using gravity and air dynamics alone. A compact box-type execution of the zig-zag unit.
WORKING PRINCIPLE
Uniform distribution (smart inlet flap): grain reaching the top inlet is distributed evenly and homogeneously across the machine cross-section by the integrated flap, preventing build-ups and starting a balanced flow. Stepped zig-zag flow (gravity and guide baffles): grain sifting downward inside the box is forced into a dynamic “zig-zag” path by baffles (cassettes) set at special angles, aerating and loosening it. Multi-stage air filtration (counter-flow suction beneath the baffles): passing under each zig-zag baffle, the grain meets a strong air stream; light husk, dust and straw are drawn up and out, while the cleaned, heavy, sound kernels continue downward to the bottom discharge.
KEY ADVANTAGES
• Multi-functional solution (cleaning and drying): Beyond the role of a standard aspirator, its high air circulation removes surface moisture from the grain to aid drying and perfectly scrapes off stubborn dust layers stuck to the kernel.
• Zero mechanical wear, no moving parts: The system works strictly in the vertical direction using gravity and aspiration suction, requiring no periodic maintenance.
• Maximum air-product contact area: Compared with classic vertical aspiration channels, the zig-zag geometry brakes the grain’s fall in a controlled way, maximising residence time and contact surface in the air stream and raising separation precision.
ENGINEERING NOTE
The zig-zag grain cleaning box is one of the simplest and most effective applications of aerodynamics. The grain tumbling and changing direction at every cassette edge fully frees the light husks and dust trapped between kernels, surrendering them to the air stream. This is the most cost-effective and stable way to remove all flour-spoiling micro-dust from the system, especially ahead of the rolls.
